Peak

Mount Drujba, meaning "friendship," is located south of the West Dungurome Valley. It is clearly visible ahead as you drive up the Barskoon Valley road, before reaching the ecological checkpoint and the switchbacks. 

On its northwest face, there remains a 200-meter glacier snowfield. The southern approach from the Barskoon Pass is easier and does not require special mountaineering equipment. 

Between the Chong Kyzyl Suu Valley and the Kichi Kyzyl Suu Valley lies Jiluusuu Peak, the first summit seen snow-covered year-round, closest to Lake Issyk Kul. It stands at an altitude of 3985 meters. 

The peak is named after the hot springs of the Chong Kyzyl Suu Valley, which translates to "warm water." To the east is the Ayutor Glacier Lake, a small lake about 170 meters in diameter. 

Unfortunately, the glaciers around this mountain have melted, leaving behind moraines, although the eastern face is often snow-covered. 

Peak Palatka, which translates from Russian as "tent peak," presents a magnificent sight from the Altyn Arashan valley. Its snowy north wall poses a formidable challenge reserved for experienced climbers, while the southern face, accessible from the Sary Chat valley and across the Sary Chat glacier, offers a relatively easier ascent.

The Tavan Bogd, also known as the "Five Saints," is a mountain massif situated in Mongolia, near the tripoint border shared with China and Russia. Its highest peak, Khüiten Peak (formerly known as Nairamdal Peak), stands as Mongolia's highest point, reaching an elevation of 4,374 meters above sea level.

The Tavan Bogd massif predominantly lies within Mongolia's Bayan-Ölgii Province, with its northern slopes extending into Russia's Altai Republic, and its western part reaching China's Burqin County.

Shiveet Mountain is located in the far western province of Bayan-Ulgii in Mongolia. This mountain holds great significance as a sacred area throughout history. Shiveet Khairkhan Mountain is adorned with approximately 10,000 petroglyphs, numerous human statues, and Turkic stone men. The majority of these carvings are situated in the lower sections of Shiveet Khairkhan Mountain, scattered on rocks along the east banks of the Khar Salaa River.

The majestic Peak Ittish, a snowy peak standing at an impressive altitude of 4808 meters in Kyrgyzstan. Known as the "head of dog" in the local language, this peak offers a breathtaking mountaineering experience. Surrounding the glacier Ittish, ten peaks enhance the natural beauty of the region, situated in the Juku valley. On the east side, a steep track leads to the Ittish pass, situated at 3880 meters, granting access to ten small mountain lakes that connect the Juku valley with the Syrt Arabel-Suu region.

At 4,000 metres, Juku Peak has no glacier but can be seen from afar. It lies between the Jukutchak and Juku valleys, and is the first high peak on the ridge.

Behind it, several peaks follow one another up to 4249 metres and the Ashutor pass at 3636 metres, which links the Ashu-Kashka-Suu gorge with the Jukutchak gorge to the east.

The Dzungarian Alatau, also known as the Dzungarian Range, is a mountain range located in Central Asia. It extends through the territories of Kazakhstan, China, and Mongolia. The name "Dzungar" comes from the name of the ethno-cultural group that lived in these areas.

The Dzungar Alatau is a part of the Tien Shan mountain system, which includes several ridges and mountain ranges. This range is characterized by beautiful landscapes, including high mountain peaks, deep gorges, glaciers, and mountain rivers.

Shakiratma Peak is located in the Chong Kyzyl Suu Valley, in front of the Chong Kyzyl Suu Geophysical Station. 

To climb it, you have to go up the Chong Kyzyl Suu valley from the station, about 5km, into the Keldike gorge. Above the forest, a path runs north to the Shakiratma valley. The easiest way is on the south side of the summit. There is also a beautiful lake to visit.

You might think that Jeti Oguz Peak is one of the highest peaks in the Teskei Alatoo, but it is actually one of the first you can see from the Issyk Kul lake side, just east of the Jeti Oguz Sanatorium. The peak resembles a pyramid, a beautiful triangle linking the forest to the snowy summits.

In winter, it stands lonely and can be ascended by ski touring from the yurt camps at Kok Jayik.
