The bridge is a vital transportation artery linking the two countries. It promotes trade, cultural exchange and diplomatic relations. Thanks to it, people and goods cross the border and ideas and cultural values move freely between nations.

The Isfana border post stands as a significant point of entry and exit located in the western region, marking the boundary between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. This border post is crucial for facilitating the movement of goods, services, and people between these two Central Asian countries. It plays a pivotal role in the economic and social interactions that occur daily across the border, serving not only as a checkpoint for customs and immigration procedures but also as a vital connection for cultural exchange and mutual understanding between the Kyrgyz and Tajik populations.

The Djartepa (Sarazm) border opens again in May 2018 between Tajikistan and Ouzbekistan. This link permit to travel from Samarkand directly to the Tajik old city of Pendjikent. This border is open to all nations and 24h. Penjikent-Samarqand

Information if you are coming from Kyrgyzstan - direction Tashkent. 

1. Yandex Taxi to the Border (Dostuk) from Osh. 

To embark on this journey, one effective strategy is to start with a Yandex taxi from Osh city to the border checkpoint. This option provides a hassle-free ride to the border, saving time and ensuring a smooth transition.

2. Shared Taxis Across the Border:

Checkpoint to the border area of the Ak Shirak region. From this point, you must own a special permit border. There is no open passageway to China.

On the main road between Bishkek and Almaty.

The border post of the Kyrgyz Oblast Batken provides access to the territory of Tajikistan. It is located on the main road between the cities of Batken and Isfara to reach the Tajik city of Khojand or the main Kyrgyz city of Osh. The post is at the exit of the small Kyrgyz village of Kyzyl Bel, and crosses the small mountain range of Kingyradyr.

Cross border between Tiup district and Kegen in Kazakstan. This post is now again open (excepting during the winter time from 1st October till 31st of May). Open daily from 8.00-18.00. 

4 km from the town of Osh, it's the only border for tourist to enter in the Uzbek's Ferghana.

On the Kyrgyz side, mini-bus nr. 136, 137, 138 are driving to Osh center.
