Namangan Region

Namangan Region is the valley’s northern shoulder, where Namangan city, Chust craft, Pap transport links and foothill settlements change the rhythm before the road rises toward Kamchik. It feels busier than rural, but less compressed than Andijan.

Namangan is the 2nd largest city in Uzbekistan after Tashkent, and therefore the most important city in the Ferghana Valley which has developed around its salt mines since the 17th century. Archaeological excavations have shown the presence of a colony from the first centuries of our era.
