Carpet Weaving Museum. The exposition of the carpet museum was opened in 1991 in the ancient mosque of  Maghoki-Attar(XVI century) near the ancient Shahrud canal, in the center of the old city, next to the dome of the Sarraphon money changers. Before the invasion of the Arabs (VIII century), there was a bazaar at this place, where idols, medicinal drugs and spices were sold. There was also a temple of fire worshippers "Moss" ("temple of the moon").

The National Museum of Arts named after I. V. Savitsky, located in Nukus, is one of the largest museums in Uzbekistan. The museum's collection is recognized as the second in the world in terms of importance and volume among the collections of works of the Russian avant-garde, as well as the best collection of art in the Asian region.

The temple Gunjin Sum ("the daughter of the Emperor"), built in 1740 by Dondovdorj, a son of the Manchu emperor. The temple has been protected since 1961.

Yamchun fortress is one of the most interesting historical sites in the Wakhan Valley. Yamchun is 72 km away to the east of the district center Ishkashim. The fortress was built during th 3rd century BC during the Greek-Bactrian Empire, on the Great Silk Road, in order to control southern invaders coming from the Pakistan valley of Chitral. A triangular citadel overlooks the village of Yamchut above 360 meters. The citadel is at the top of another walled triangle of nearly 600 meters length and with a base of about 400 meters.

Not far from the castle in the village Yamchun Vrang Ishkashim at the point where they exit from the gorge Vrang-Darya, the right tributary of the river Panj, unearthed a large religious complex, which is seen as a Buddhist monastery.

Muyi Muborak Madrasah was built in the XVIII century by the ruler of Kokand Mirza Ahmed Kushbegi.

The Dorut Tilavat (Dor-i-Tilavat/Dorut Tilovat/Dor al-Tilavat) complex is a "house of meditation". It has a large Friday mosque Kouk Gumbaz and the mausoleum of Goumbazi Saydan.

Place Registan, which has existed for more than 6 centuries. Some of the buildings that are in the square have been kept here in their original form from the time they were built. Special attention deserves a complex of three medersas - schools built in the Middle Ages, lined with mosaics in the traditional national style. The square itself was paved with baked bricks at the end of the 19th century.
