Jailoo

Orto Cyrt (or Orto-Syrt) jailoo is a hidden gem and one of the most enchanting high-altitude summer pastures (jailoos) in Kyrgyzstan's remote Ak-Talaa District, Naryn Region. Lying between the Borulu Pass and Kulak Ashuu Pass on the adventurous off-road route from Baetov to Tash Rabat, this expansive alpine meadow sits at the peaceful confluence of the Kalgakar and Akbeyit rivers.

Ak-Tash, peaking at 3,853 m, is the only isolated mountainous formation at the heart of the Song Kul Lake basin. Located northeast of the lake, the range extends about 10 km long and 6 km wide. At its northeastern end, the Djaman Echki and Ak-Tash valleys converge to form the Djaman Echki Pass (3,341 m), which separates this massif from the Song Kul Too range. 

Nestled among the jagged peaks of the Tian Shan, the Turgen Ak-Suu valley stretches like a forgotten path of the gods, a secret passage where time seems to stand still. Here, nature reigns supreme, sculpting landscapes with the seasons and the eternal winds blowing from the high snows of the Turgen Ak-Suu glacier. 

Located on the southern shore of Lake Issyk-Kul, Djeti-Oguz Gorge and the Kok-Zhayyk Jailoo are natural wonders that offer an unforgettable escape into nature. "Djeti-Oguz," translating to "Seven Bulls," refers to the striking red sandstone cliffs that resemble a line of giant bulls, with the majestic peak of Oguz Bashi, or "Bull's Head," standing tall at 5181 meters at the end of the gorge. Nearby, the "Broken Heart" rock adds to the area's romantic and mythical charm.

The Syrgali Valley is a natural area with two lakes named Khoton and Khurgan, located in the specially protected zone of Altai Tavan Bogd. This valley is situated opposite Altai Tavan Bogd. "Syrgal" is a Tuvan word that means "earring," and this region is rich in historical and archaeological monuments. It is well-known among archaeologists for the rock paintings in the Syrgal Valley and the burials of the Pazyryk culture.

Due to its cool climate, Kazakh herder families from Tuva only come to the Syrgali region in the summer and settle in Tsengel Khairkhan in the fall.

At 4,000 metres, Juku Peak has no glacier but can be seen from afar. It lies between the Jukutchak and Juku valleys, and is the first high peak on the ridge.

Behind it, several peaks follow one another up to 4249 metres and the Ashutor pass at 3636 metres, which links the Ashu-Kashka-Suu gorge with the Jukutchak gorge to the east.

The Kurgak Ukok tract is located 12 km from the village of Kochkorka, in the Kochkor district of the Naryn region of Kyrgyzstan. It is a beautiful and picturesque place surrounded by mountains and meadows. 

The Ters Tor tract in the Naryn region of Kyrgyzstan is a magical place, shrouded in legends and mystery, which attracts travelers with its mysterious atmosphere and natural beauty. 

Located in a picturesque valley among the mountains of the Naryn Range, the Ters Tor tract is known for its amazing rock formations and clear mountain streams. The rocks, carved by time and winds, form striking shapes that seem to have been created by the magic hand of nature.

The Kaynar River has its source in the Borkoldoy massif. At the foot of the glaciers lies its 2 km long lake, formed after a landslide. 

The contrast between glaciers, black and red rocks, and meadows where sheep and marmots graze is totally incredible.

Djarkorumdu is a valley on the foot of the Baba-Ata peak, on its South side. The glacial lake of Terme marks the spring of the river Djarkorumdu. You can start your journey from Epkin village.
