Ak-Tash mountains (Song Kul)

Ak-Tash, peaking at 3,853 m, is the only isolated mountainous formation at the heart of the Song Kul Lake basin. Located northeast of the lake, the range extends about 10 km long and 6 km wide. At its northeastern end, the Djaman Echki and Ak-Tash valleys converge to form the Djaman Echki Pass (3,341 m), which separates this massif from the Song Kul Too range. 

Springs emerge all around the mountain, and its southern slope houses a waterfall that dries up during the driest summers. Every year, from May to October, many shepherds set up their yurts there to take advantage of the rich pastures. 

In winter, Ak-Tash can be ascended on ski from our winter yurt camp, offering a unique experience amid the wild landscapes of Song Kul.
