Visa for Afghanistan

Since the political changes of 2021, Afghan consular arrangements have changed and some embassy routes mentioned in older guide material may no longer be reliable. Treat any city-by-city embassy list as temporary until checked with the relevant mission or the Afghan online visa service.

Afghanistan now has an online E-Afghans visa service where applicants can check requirements and apply for an e-visa. The portal describes a single-entry tourist e-visa valid for a 30-day stay, with processing depending on the completeness of the application and the selected processing option.

For a Nomad’s Land journey, the practical visa question is not only “can I apply?” but “which document matches this route, date and entry point?” We may provide itinerary details, accommodation information or partner documentation when these are required for a supported trip, but the traveller remains responsible for holding the correct passport, visa and supporting documents.
