Visa for Pakistan
Most foreign travellers need a visa for Pakistan and should apply before travel through the official online visa system or the relevant Pakistani mission. Do not rely on older “visa on arrival” wording unless it has been verified for your exact nationality and date.
For Northern Pakistan and Gilgit-Baltistan, the visa is only one part of planning. Some roads, valleys, border areas or sensitive zones may require local checks, permits, escort rules or current route assessment. Conditions can also change with weather, road disruption or regional events.
Before confirming the route, check:
- visa category, processing time and supporting documents;
- whether Nomad’s Land or a local partner must provide itinerary or invitation details;
- passport validity and entry stamp requirements;
- route permissions for border or sensitive areas;
- whether your travel insurance covers altitude, road evacuation and the planned activities;
- whether monsoon, landslide, snow or roadworks affect the timing.
