Turkmenabat Airport is a key facility in the air transportation system of Turkmenistan. It is used for flights on domestic routes of the country, and also serves transit and charter international flights.
The airport terminal can serve up to 300 passengers per hour, providing them with comfortable conditions during flights. The airport's artificial runway is 2750 meters long and 42 meters wide, which allows it to accommodate various types of aircraft.
In 2010, the runway, apron and aircraft parking lots were reconstructed at the airport. The airport terminal building was also overhauled to improve the level of passenger service. All necessary conditions for comfortable waiting and check-in and boarding procedures were created.
In the near future, additional measures are planned to modernize the airport, including equipping the runway with the latest air navigation and radio technical equipment, increasing the length of the runway, as well as modernizing the apron and aircraft parking areas. These measures will further improve the quality of passenger service and efficiency of Turkmenabat airport.
