Kumdu Suu (Song Kul) - Bokonbaeva

After breakfast, we bid farewell to our hosts at the Kumdu Suu jailoo, leaving behind the tranquil beauty of Song Kul Lake. We follow the eastern shore, passing herds of horses and a few scattered yurts, before the road gradually climbs towards the Kalmak Ashu Pass (3,470 m). From the summit, we enjoy a final view of the deep blue waters of the lake and the vast alpine pastures below.

The descent takes us through the Tolok Valley, where green pastures contrast with the red cliffs of the mountains, then through the arid Djon Aryk Gorge to the village of Kochkor for lunch.

In the afternoon, we continue our journey to the southern shore of the great Lake Issyk Kul, following one of the most picturesque roads in Kyrgyzstan. On the way, we stop at the home of a family of yurt makers to discover a craft that has been passed down from generation to generation. In the evening, we arrive at a local falconer's house in Bokonbaeva, where we are welcomed for the night and a traditional dinner.
