Ak-Döbö

Ak-Dyobyo is a village in Jeti-Oguz District, Issyk-Kul Province, Kyrgyzstan. It is part of the Ak-Dyobyo commune, which consists of four villages located along a branch of the Jeti-Oguz River delta and along the eastern slope of Mount Orgochor. But its name, of course, comes from the fact that it is located next to Mount Orgochor, as Ak-Döbö means "white hill".

Peak Shakiratma

Shakiratma Peak is located in the Chong Kyzyl Suu Valley, in front of the Chong Kyzyl Suu Geophysical Station. 

To climb it, you have to go up the Chong Kyzyl Suu valley from the station, about 5km, into the Keldike gorge. Above the forest, a path runs north to the Shakiratma valley. The easiest way is on the south side of the summit. There is also a beautiful lake to visit.

Chong-Jargylchak

Chong-Jargylchak is a small village of 1000 inhabitants located between Barskoon and Kichi-Jargylchak, on the southern shore of Lake Issyk Kul. 

The village is not only known for its beautiful bay but also for its green orchards and fields. It is the starting point to visit its long valley of almost 25 km, and its river which originates mainly from the Korolkova glacier which rises to almost 4800 meters. There are several small glacial lakes, the largest of which is at the foot of Panfilovtsev Peak. 

Saryköl Lake

Saryköl is a beautiful lake situated on a mountain plateau between Shorgosu and Aïgyrbulak in the south-east of the Jetimbel Too range. Its name means "Yellow Lake" in Kyrgyz. Sary Köl is an endorheic lake, meaning that it has no outflow, and all of its water is retained within its basin.

The lake measures approximately 2.4 kilometers in length and 700 meters in width. The lake's location on the plateau ensures that it is surrounded by stunning mountain scenery, with peaks rising in the distance.

Ekurgenkel lake

Ekurgenkel is a stunning lake located in the southern part of the Seok mountains on the eastern side of the Jetim Bel range. Its main source of water is the Sary Tor glacier, which ensures a constant supply of fresh, clean water. 

The lake is approximately 1.5 kilometers in length and 1 kilometer wide, with crystal clear waters that reflect the surrounding mountain peaks. The area around the lake is characterized by peaks that rise to altitudes of more than 4000 meters, creating a breathtaking landscape that is sure to awe visitors.

Peak Jeti Oguz

You might think that Jeti Oguz Peak is one of the highest peaks in the Teskei Alatoo, but it is actually one of the first you can see from the Issyk Kul lake side, just east of the Jeti Oguz Sanatorium. The peak resembles a pyramid, a beautiful triangle linking the forest to the snowy summits.

In winter, it stands lonely and can be ascended by ski touring from the yurt camps at Kok Jayik.

Yrdyk

Yrdyk is a small village located approximately 7 kilometers west of Karakol city in Kyrgyzstan. 

The village was established in 1877 under the name of Marinskoe, which was later changed to Dyishin before being renamed to Yrdyk. The village was founded on the site of the former Dungan village of Mariinskoye.

Central market of Kyzyl Suu

In 1932, Ella Maillart, a Swiss adventurer, describes the market of Kyzyl Suu, formerly Pakrovka, in her book "From the Celestial Mountains to the Red Sands". She makes a last supply before leaving to search for the basmatchis who were hiding in the Tien Shan mountains. The market is in the centre of the village on the main road south of Lake Issyk Kul.

You can find everything here, but the main reason for coming is fresh bread, meat, fruit, vegetables and dairy products.
