Tosor is a small village located on the southern shore of Lake Issyk-Kul in Kyrgyzstan. This place attracts the attention of both tourists and researchers due to its unique natural and cultural features.

Tosor is located on the southern side of the famous Issyk-Kul Lake, one of the largest and deepest lakes in the world. The lake is famous for its crystal clear waters and beautiful scenery. The mountains surrounding the lake create magnificent views and provide opportunities for various outdoor activities such as hiking and mountaineering.

Toktogul water reservoir

The Toktogul hydroelectric power station, built in 1975, is the largest and most important power station in the country, producing up to 40% of its electricity. In addition, the dam of its dam produces a volume of 19 billion cubic meters of water that flows through the largest Toktogul reservoir in Central Asia and governs the irrigation and energy regimes. Visits are prohibited to the public, and entrances are monitored by the military. Access to the dam is from the small town of Kara-Kël (or Karakul, Kara-Kul, Kara-Kol).

Teshik-Kul lake

There are two lakes, 1,2 km long and a lower lake 340 meters long. They are part of the Terskey Alatoo and the Issyk Kul oblast, even if the river flow into the Naryn bassin. It's situated near a popular local place names Jilu Suu (Jeli Suu) and its hot sources. From hot spring, you may count one day to hike there and back. It's also part of a trek between the valley of Karagoman till Jilu Suu through these lakes. Long time ago, these lakes were created after the retreat of the glacier Kelter (Köl Toer) which culminates at 4478 meters altitude.

Sacred mount of Tashtar-Ata

South of the city of Bishkek, at the very foot of the Kok Jar mountains, there is a hill named Tashtar-Ata, this place is surrounded by various secrets and legends, and called the mountain of salvation.

According to local residents, the place has a very bright aura; pilgrims come there in search of purification of the soul.

It is impossible to scientifically prove or justify the healing power of the mountain, but the Mountain of Salvation serves as a sanctuary where pilgrims seek salvation from all troubles and diseases.

Suusamyr valley

Suusamyr is a small valley, 150 kilometers long, which is located between three large ridges of the northern Tien Shan: Kyrgyz, Suusamyr-Too and Jumgal-Too. From ancient times this valley was a very fertile place: it is no coincidence that the Great Silk Road passed through it, and nowadays it has become one of the favorite attractions for tourists in Kyrgyzstan.

South Engilchek

The Southern Engilchek Glacier is the largest and most spectacular of the two branches of the Engilchek Glacier system, stretching over 60 kilometers across the central Tien Shan massif. Recognized as the sixth longest non-polar glacier in the world and the largest in Kyrgyzstan, its ice thickness reaches up to 200 meters in some places. Unlike its northern counterpart, known for hosting Lake Merzbacher and its spectacular drainage phenomenon, the southern glacier is distinguished by serving as a unique access route to the highest peaks in the region.
