The National Museum of Tajikistan in Dushanbe is the country’s most important cultural institution—an elegant architectural landmark and a gateway into the rich history of the Tajik people. Designed with a blend of modern aesthetics and traditional Central Asian motifs, the museum offers travelers an immersive experience across 24 exhibition halls spanning archaeology, natural history, fine arts, and ethnography.

Better than any other art gallery in the city, but strangely not very well known due to lack of communication, this is the place to visit in Dushanbe for those interested in contemporary art.

The Art Foundation (or Art Academy), located in a dilapidated Soviet-era building, concentrates a large number of art studios. Painters, sculptors, and masters of applied arts gladly welcome visitors.

The history of the mosque is closely intertwined with political and social changes in Tajikistan. Built in the 19th century, it has stood the test of time, serving as a center of attention for the Muslim community. After the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, the mosque underwent significant reconstruction, symbolizing the modern Islamic revival in the country.

The Central Cathedral Mosque of Dushanbe, named after Imam Abu Hanifa, is the second largest mosque in Central Asia after the Hazrat Sultan Mosque in Astana.

It was inaugurated on June 09, 2023 by the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon together with the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, who donated part of the funds for the construction of this magnificent complex.

The National Museum of Antiquities of Tajikistan is the country's leading archaeological and cultural-historical museum located in the capital Dushanbe. It was founded in 1934 as the Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy and Archaeological Research of the Tajik Base of the USSR Academy of Sciences. In 1996, the museum was renamed the National Museum of Antiquities of Tajikistan, and in 2001 it opened in a new two-story building in the center of Dushanbe.

Safed Dara means the white valley, and it's situated 50 km North of Dushanbé. The old ski resort formerly named Takob was renovated in 2015 and was reopened for the 1st of January 2016. There are 2 T-bar lifts of 1000 meters each, the National ski school, a restaurant and 56 hotel's rooms.

It's also a very good spot for any mountain sport : mountain biking, horse riding, backcountry skiing, ski-touring, hiking, mountaineering.

The Dushanbe tea room

Kohi Navruz (Kori Nowruz or Noruz Palace) was designed as a teahouse, but during construction it was transformed into a palace. "Kohi Navruz" consists of 12 unusual rooms, each of them is made in a special style. The complex has an art room, a banquet hall, a living room with carved stone moldings, a plaster room decorated with mirrors, two rooms for important political meetings. In total, the building can accommodate more than 3,200 people.
