The Asuu-Tor Gorge begins at the geo-physical station of Chong Kyzyl Suu. The western slope is covered with a dense forest, mainly composed of spruce of Schrenk (Picea schrenkiana), locally called "Tien Shan spruce" and growing at more than 3000 meters.
