Tashkent - Khiva

Transfer to the airport for the morning flight to Urgench.
Reception and transfer to Khiva (30 km / 40 - 50 min).
Arrival in Khiva. Check - in at the hotel after 2:00 p.m.

First visit to the madrasahs, mosques and palaces of the Khans of Khiva in the inner city "Ichan Kala" surrounded by the ramparts (walking tour, duration approximately 6 hours): the visit begins with the west gate Ata Darvaza, one of the gates, raised in the 19th century. at the four cardinal points. We follow the main artery of the city, stopping at the monuments of the richest art and history: Kounya – Ark, the 17th century fortified palace; Kournych-khana (1825); Medersa Mouhammed Rakhim Khan (1871), Medersa Islam-Khodja (1908-1912) with its minaret 44.5m high and 9.5 in diameter, the tallest minaret in Khiva. In the center of Itchan-kala, we visit the imposing Djouma Mosque, Friday, the main mosque of Khiva with its 213 carved wooden columns.
Continuation of the visits to Khiva: behind the Djouma mosque rises the most famous monument of Khiva: the mausoleum of Pakhlavan-Makhmoud from the 19th century. We will arrive at the Tach Khaouli Palace, dating from the 19th century, the residence of the khans of Khiva. In front of Khan Moukhammed-Amin's medersa, the largest of Khiva stands the curious Kalta-Minor, a short minaret from 1855. The visit ends with one of the oldest monuments in Khiva: the mausoleum of Sayid Alaouddine, erected little long after the death of the Sheikh in 1303.
