Chunkurchak gorge

The Chunkurchak Gorge is located 45 km south of the Kyrgyz capital, Bishkek. A unique landscape, a mixture of pastures and red sandstone rocks, at the foot of the highest glaciers of the Kyrgyz Alatoo mountain range. It is a recreational place where you can find several mountain hotels, as well as a ski resort.

Kashka Suu canyon

Some 20km south of Bishkek, the Kashka-Suu valley, whose river is influential to that of Ala Archa. The largest number of ski resorts can be found there, including Polytech, Kashka-Suu, Ak-Tash, Ortussay, Edelweiss, etc.
The landscape is breathtaking, a mixture of pasture and red sandstone canyon.

Kegety gorge

Nearly 60km south-east of Bishkek, the Kegeti valley lies between that of Issyk Ata and that of Shamshi. There is a pass that crosses the Kyrgyz Alatoo mountain range, and leads to the Kochkor valley.

Local legends say that in ancient times the tribes living in Chong Kemin valley area used this hill to watch for any enemy tribes that might approach along the road. The hill offered a view over all of Chong Kemin. Day and night, lying on this hill, local soldiers guarded their homes. As time passed, locals began calling this hill Karool Dobo "Guard Hill". Later, the village at the foot of the hill also took the name "Karool Dobo".

Kel-Kogur lake

Lake Koel Kogur lies in Chong Kemin National Park. The lake can be reached from Chong Kemin or from Tamchi village on the shore of the Issyk Kul lake. It is located 5 km below Kel-Tor Pass, and it takes a day of walking or riding from the Chong Kemin River, and 2 days from Issyk Kul Lake.

Ak-Sai glacier

The Ak-Say glacier (means "white valley") is situated in the Ala Archa valley and surrounded by popular peaks like Teketor (4441m.); Aktoo (4620m.); peak Korona (4860m.); peak Iziskatel (4400m.); peak Svobodnaya Korea (Free Korea, 4740m.); peak Box (4240m.).

Alamedin gorge

The Alamedin valley is one of the 2 valleys supplying water to the city of Bishkek. It lies to the east of the Ala Archa valley. It is very popular and owes its development during the Soviet era with the construction of a sanatorium around the mineral hot springs. The valley attracts many walkers, picnickers but also mountaineers because it is surrounded by the highest peaks of Kyrgyz Alatoo, such as the Simeon Tienshansky peak 4875m. alt. and the Alamedin Wall culminated by the Kyrgyzstan peak at 4840 meters.

Belogorka gorge

The Belogorka valley, 35 km long, sinks into the mountain range of Kyrgyz Alatoo. It is located 40km west of Bishkek. This valley is popular for its waterfall which is often visited by locals. It also gives access to mountaineers for the ascent of the Putin peak.

Boom gorge

The main main road connects the Oblast of Chuy and that of Issyk Kul by a canyon 40 km long. But this passage was only opened during the expedition led by explorer Pyotr Semionov-Tian-Chanski in 1857. The colors of the rocks are incredible. You can visit several small canyons with red rocks like the Creek canyon.
