Ala-Kul lake

Ala Kul lake (or Ala Koel in Kyrgyz) is located in the upper part of the river Kurgaktor at an altitude of 3523 meters. The lake is 70 meters deep. Its origin is glacial and some glaciers are still visible, especially in the north of the lake. There is no island and the name in Kyrgyz means "colorfull". The lake can be reach by foot only in one day, from Altyn Arashan refuge or from Karakol valley.

Altyn Arashan valley

The gorge Altyn Arashan (with Kyrgyz language "golden source") - one of the most beautiful places of Kyrgyzstan. Its scenic beauty, a gem of the mountains is Ala Kel, and hot springs, known for their beneficial properties, have long conquered the hearts of the people who come to these places. Arashan mountain valley of the river is 10 kilometers east of the town of Kara-Kol.

Archa-Tor pass

The Karakabak gorge, and the Asantukum gorge, are two stunningly beautiful valleys located in the Jeti Oguz district. These valleys are separated by a mountain pass called the Archa Tor pass (difficulty 1A), which offers spectacular views of the surrounding mountains.

One of the highlights of the Archa Tor pass is the stunning view of the Head of Sugar peak, which stands at an altitude of 4189 meters. From the pass, you can also enjoy breathtaking views of the Chatyr Tor peaks.

Jiluu Suu (Tong)

Situated on Issyk Kul Oblast but accessible by road from Naryn Oblast. During the summer, it's main touristic destination of inhabitants of Naryn city. You may cure one week minimum if you want to get ride of your dermatologic problems. Many local tourists come to taste excellent kumys.

This site is situated at the foot of the ancient border post of Bedel. There are traces of settlement and tombs of different centuries. 

There is still a dirty road to China, but it closed and guarded by Kyrgyz border patrol. In II-IV centuries AD the track through Bedel pass and southern Issyk Kul was already in regular use by caravans. Commercial use of this road stop in 1975.

Border zone permit is necessary.
