Naryn city - Kazarman

In the morning, we depart from Naryn and begin our westward journey along the Naryn River. As we leave the town, the valley remains narrow, with steep canyon walls rising on either side. Gradually, the valley widens, revealing vast open fields and small villages where local farmers cultivate their land. To the south, the Alamyshik mountains give way to the Kara Too range, while to the north, the imposing Moldo Too mountains continue to dominate the horizon.

After crossing this broad valley, we reach the point where we cross the Naryn River, moving from the south shore to the north. From here, the road starts climbing steadily, leading us into the highlands at the foot of the Moldo Too range. As we gain altitude, the views open up, offering stunning panoramas of the vast wilderness stretching in every direction.

By midday, we arrive at the high plateau of Dödömöl, a peaceful and remote landscape where we stop for a picnic. The plateau, surrounded by rolling pastures and dramatic peaks, is a perfect place to soak in the beauty of Kyrgyzstan’s highlands.

In the afternoon, we continue driving along the foot of the Moldo Too mountains, following a scenic mountain road that leads us toward the Karakayn Gorge. The road then descends through this rugged gorge, eventually bringing us to the banks of the Naryn River once more. After crossing the river near the village of Karabulun, we follow its winding course westward, passing through remote valleys and vast open spaces.

By late afternoon, we arrive in Kazarman, a town surrounded by dramatic landscapes that once played a significant role during the Soviet era. We settle into our guesthouse, where we enjoy a warm welcome and a well-earned rest.
