Kazarman - Naryn city

In the early morning, we depart from Kazarman and begin our journey eastward, following the course of the Naryn River through vast open valleys and rugged mountain terrain. The road leads us to the village of Karabulun, where we cross the Naryn River and start our ascent into the Karakayn Gorge. Winding through the dramatic landscape, we follow the Karakayn River as it climbs higher into the mountains.

By midday, we reach the high plateau of Dödömöl, a remote and open expanse at the foot of the Moldo Too range. Here, we stop for a picnic, enjoying breathtaking views of the untouched alpine scenery. The road continues along the base of the Moldo Too mountains, offering sweeping panoramas of rolling pastures and distant peaks.

In the mid-afternoon, we begin our descent from the plateau, gradually making our way down toward the Naryn River. Upon reaching the valley floor, we cross the river once again, moving from the north shore to the south. From here, the landscape changes—the valley widens significantly, stretching nearly 30 km across. To the north, the towering Moldo Too range dominates the horizon, while to the south, the Kara Too mountains give way to the Alamyshik range.

As we continue our journey, we pass through a series of small villages surrounded by cultivated fields, where rural life unfolds at a peaceful rhythm. Slowly, the valley begins to narrow, and the mountains on either side grow closer. The final stretch of our route takes us through this increasingly confined gorge, where the river carves its way through colorful rock formations.

By late afternoon, we arrive in Naryn, a town nestled between the steep canyon walls. Upon arrival, we settle into our guesthouse and enjoy a warm welcome from our hosts.
